Mission…Begin
The sunlight, which came through my window, woke me up smoothly! It was the first time after long that I have slept so peacefully! The problem was that…Sakura helped me to that! Her presence was always calming me down. But I thought I might have gotten addicted to her! Like Shikamaru would say “What a drag”
I got dressed in a hurry. I had changed clothes since I have returned. I started wearing dark, blue T-shirts again and black shorts. But then I put on something different because of the weather! I guessed that it would be too hot so I wore white shorts and a light blue T-shirt without raised collar! I got my sheath and my bag, with kunai and shuriken, and headed to Konoha’s gate! As, I didn’t manage to have breakfast due to the late hour; I took a sandwich with me. But I was hungrier that I had expected. Anyway I didn’t care much.
I arrived at the gate but no one was there. Had they left already? Then I looked at my watch. It was showing 8:30 and we had to be there at 8:20! But the longest needle wasn’t moving at all! So it stopped last night. I went to the flower shop to ask the hour
“Eh is anybody here?”
Then I heard a cheering voice
“Good morning, what can I do for you”
It was Ino in the shop! Her hair was long, my type and blond. But… I didn’t like them so much as Sakura’s.
“Sorry bothering you Ino.”
“It is ok Sasuke, what can I do for you” She asked me and smiled. Maybe she had forgotten her “love” for me. That’s good
“My watch stopped, so can you tell me what time is it?”
“Of course, it is 8 hour.”
“Thank you” I smiled and turn around to leave. On my way out I saw a very beautiful, magnificent pink flower! It attracted my attention at once. I… I felt like buying that and give it to Sakura! The excuse that came in my mind was that I made her cry a lot so… It could be a way to start the repayment.
“Eh, Ino I want to get that flower, please”
“Of course” She said and smiled once again
She took the flower and started wrapping it with a pink ribbon. I could feel that she would like to know to whom that flower would end up. But, fortunately, she didn’t have the courage to ask. I paid and left holding the flower in my hand.
When I got back to the gate Sakura was there. I suddenly felt that I couldn’t give her the flower and I was stupid to do that. An impulse was trying to make me throw it but I didn’t. I steeped forward, a bit slow, and got close to her. I noticed that she was wearing her black gloves already. When she heard me she turned to me and smiled.
“Good morning” She said happily
“Good morning Sakura. Eh I got something for you” and I gave her that pink beauty
“Thank you.” She just replied and brought the pedals to her nose. I guess it had a nice smell.
But she was…different. Old Sakura would do like crazy, she might have fainted. However she wasn’t like before, the crybaby who was always trying to catch my attention. She had matured so much that she didn’t pay so much attention to me anymore.
The weirdest thing was that we were at least 10 minutes together and she didn’t say a word. She didn’t even look at me once. Naruto arrived suddenly and out of nowhere…at least I thought so
“Hey, you deaf one, can’t you just say good morning or something like hi” he yelled at me. How didn’t I notice that he was here…? I was loosing my concentration.
“Sorry Naruto, I was… thinking of something.” I said confused
“Is there something wrong with you?”
“No why?”
“You haven’t called me a looser already. Have you fever or something?” He asked
“Come on let’s start already… looser!” I replied and smiled
“That’s the Sasuke we all know”
After that little chat we started. We weren’t running because Tsunade arranged our ‘beginning time’ early in order to have time admire the lands. We were walking through the forest, which wasn’t silent. There were birds everywhere which were singing their moans. Their melody was really good. Also the scent of roses was filling up the air giving another sense to the whole atmosphere. I just thought that I have never noticed these kinds of things before, I never cared about them. But that moment, I enjoyed everything, memorizing the sounds and scents of nature. I really liked them, as they were unique to me. Suddenly, Naruto’s laughing disturbed my thoughts. I hadn’t realized that they were talking
“Clever, Sakura, so where have you been the last days?” He asked
“Eh, I have been working on a new jutsu.”
Sakura…Has been working on a new jutsu…? What have I lost these last years? Have I stayed so behind?
“New jutsu?” I said curious and both of them looked at me right away dazzled
“Yeah” In other case she would already have talked about it to impress me. But she didn’t.
“What is it about?” She seemed confused from my question
“It is for unknown kinds of poison in missions.”
“Tell me more…please!”
“Eh ok. You know when we are on a mission and someone hit you, for example, with a poisoned weapon that I can’t identify I won’t have time to learn more about this if it spreads quickly. So, it will be a very difficult and critical situation. Am I boring?”
“No, continue” Naruto’s was looking at me like he had 1000 questions to make
“So it’s a jutsu that examines the blood cells immediately and gather the poison in one spot. Then I pull out most of it while I am putting something like a ‘barrier’ around the heart muscles so as to protect them from being affected by the rest of it. So that I’ll have the time to search for some antidote.” She ended and sighed.
It was a pretty good idea indeed. So the rumors that she has the potential to become better than Tsunade, were real. And she was like always… intelligent.
“So, Sasuke, don’t you have to say anything?” Naruto said in order to make me say something good. Like I asked for his help
“Indeed, it’s a really good jutsu. As you described it I can say that it is incomplete”
“Yes, I have problem with…” She said but I knew the problem already
“The barrier” I continued her sentence. But why were they astonished?
“How can you know?” Naruto expressed his question
“From the tone of her voice, and I guessed that it would be very difficult to put out poison and put a barrier at the same time” Sakura blushed only for a second
So that’s how our day passed. I enjoyed our time. We were talking for anything and laughing… yeah laughing! It has been a long time since I had smiled and spent some time carefree. I was finally happy

When darkness fell we started to make our camp. We had two tents one for Naruto and me and one for Sakura. I didn’t understand at first place why we had to take tents but Kakashi had told that it would take us 4 days to arrive at that village. Any way we put our sleeping bags outside and put a fire.
We were still talking. There were so many things for us to talk about that I was feeling that I run out of time. When Naruto told us about his meeting with his father and mother I felt sadness and jealousies. He never had parents to care for him, although he never gave up. But I always knew that this emptiness was torturing him sometimes. However, he had a chance to see them, for first and last time. I couldn’t do that. See my serious father, my beloved mother and my brother. My life was messed up.
Instead of being angry I decided to start a new life, as I had people who cared about me. But, I was afraid to make that bonds and especially so strong. Because if anyone of them died, I would have to suffer again… and I didn’t want to. So all that time, I was scare to risk that in order not to be in pain and despair.
After we ate Sakura said:
“Why don’t we turn off the fire and lie down to see the stars?” She suggested
“Yeah that’s a great idea” replied Naruto cheerfully
I looked at them confused, as I couldn’t find a point at that. As Naruto understood me better that anyone he said
“It’s fun and relaxing. You may see a shooting star!”
I didn’t reply I just lied down and smiled.
Naruto did the same too as Sakura was putting off the fire. Then she lied down in the middle of us.
The night black sky had millions of stars to decorate him and the moon was almost in full. Naruto suddenly screamed
“Hey a star fell. I have to make a wish!” He said enthusiastically and closed his eyes.
As it was expected he was fast asleep ten seconds later. I was looking at the sky and got lost in my thoughts. I was sure it had been at least two hours later when I heard Sakura sighed.
“What happened?” I asked her
“I was just… thinking of something.”
“Can I ask what?”
“The night you left!” She said in a combination of harsh and sad tone. I didn’t have anything to tell as I was feeling guilty.
“I confessed to you for a first time and plead you several times to come back. I cried”
“Please stop” I barely said. The memory came to my mind and started torturing me. Thoughts were screaming: Why did you leave? You made her suffer once more! You are heartless and senseless. You deserve to be alone. She should kill you right now.
Then Sakura’s image came at the surface… she was angry. You are a monster!
“N-no…please stop. Get out of my mind… I am not a monster…” and I burst into tears. It was the first time after 4 years.
At first Sakura looked scared and then she washed away my tears with her hand. But I couldn’t make them stop. It seems that I was holding them for many years. Suddenly, she hugged me gently like I was a baby. I didn’t push her away because she was reminding me my mother
“Sorry, I am really sorry…”
“You don’t have to apologize for anything. I was just thinking why and I thing I came up with a conclusion… Tell me honestly, you are afraid of loosing us, aren’t you?” She said like she already knew the answer and I just knobbed my head.
“It is ok. We will always be here for you now that were are together.”
“Thank you “ I said. I was ready to push her away, not rudely, when she kissed me on my cheek. I turned red like Hinata.
“ That’s why we, friends are here. Goodnight!” She said those last words and went away in her sleeping bag by her own. After that I felt really like sleeping. It was like her kiss was magic. I fall asleep quickly too. In my dream I saw my mother. She was like the last time I saw and she was smiling peacefully to me. I tried to hug her but I couldn’t. Then she laughed, sent me a kiss and said:
“Well done, sweetheart!”
