Naruto had just gotten back from his Sasuke Retrieval Mission. Which, had failed. As he walked though the gates, he found Sakura waiting impatiently immediately inside Konoha. Her smile failed her as soon as she saw him, and the rest of the group, without Sasuke that is.
She ran to Naruto and buried her face in his shoulder. Crying hard into his shirt, while the other boys watched in astonishment. They had never thought Naruto would be put in this situation. Naruto relaxed and put one Hand on Sakura’s back and the other stroking her hair. Neji looked away as if he was looking into someone’s personal life, which in a way he was. Chouji froze in place, like the rustle of chips would ruin the moment, which it would. Shikamaru did nothing. He was just an onlooker; he did not contribute to the moment. Naruto waited for Sakura to pull her head away from his collarbone.
“C’mon Sakura. I’ll take you home.” Sakura Slowly moved away from Naruto when he said those words. Her face was streaked with teardrops. Naruto’s shirt was wet with her tears. Shortly after they began to walk to Sakura’s house, the others went their separate ways.
