Protecting us from above.
It starts as a little bud.
Then blossoms to become the life of the tree.
Changing sunlight to sugar.
Setting oxygen free.
Home of the bird.
Place of its birth.
It's used for many things.
Why it's even on the Canadian flag.
Flying high as America's wings.
It doesn't worry about becoming old.
Because it knows that when it's time on earth is done.
It'll change to brilliant colors.
That are loved by the sun.
