When Saya was 12, her father put a curse on her. The curse is, whenever she wants, she can turn her body to sand. the only problem with it is that when she gets wet, she hardens and cannot change for 48 hours, so when Leader gives her a mission, he must tell her 1 week in advance. To place this curse on her, her father, The Kazekage, and to cut her from the base of her neck down to 2 inches abover her tailbone along her spine, then 4 inches below her shoulder bladesacross her back to the other shoulder blade. Then he put snad in her back, it fused with her blood so when she changes, the sand is blood-red. after the curse was put on her, for some strange reason, whenever she got near Gaara, his sand didnt spring up or do anything, and Gaara felt closer to Saya then anyone else, and the same with Saya.
