Author's Response: Yes, I think Ross most certainly has a naive streak about her, but I think it's mostly wishful thinking, more than anything else. She had a rough childhood, so hoping for a normal life for her daughter now seems reasonable, but yes, very naive :) Also, I like her independent nature, too. It, ironically, comes from her mother XD Thanks for this review! Don't worry that you haven't gotten to until now, I love getting even one from one user! It lets me know that people are enjoying the story and that it is worth continuing!! Thanks a bunch!!

oh no!! i was loving the whole thing that everyone liked her, till kakashi DX not him... it seems a bit sad if she fell for kakashi (i'm not thinkin as fan girl), she loves Zabuza, i believe so at least, and me being me, i wouldnt fall for someone who hurt the man i love :) great chapter though!
Author's Response: EXACTLY!! I don't know how well I did portraying this but I wanted it to appear as though Kakashi has feelings for Ross, but on the other hand Ross only sees Kakashi as a friend, if you notice how she reacts to him stepping in and taking Kohaku from Zabuza. Although, if Zabuza doesn't do something drastic, he may very well lose her to someone more passionate, like Kiba or Rock Lee :P Anyway, thanks for the review and I'm glad you liked it!!

Kakashi likes Ross?!?! Didn't see that one coming.... Wow, it seems Ross has become that girl, huh? The one that has developed so much that the guys are noticing. I'd say good for her, but I think Zabuza might hurt me for saying that :P
Good job on this! I honestly really loved Kakashi's speech to Zabuza, it just made things so much more dramatic! Keep up the awesome work!
Author's Response: Well, of course Kakashi likes Ross!! He has an eye for quality! Ha, funny, but seriously, I was hoping no one would put that together until this episode, but I did try to foreshadow it a little with Kakashi's relationship with Kohaku, and yeah, Ross is growing up fast and Zabuza has been missing out on at least three years of it, so I thought Kakashi warning him was kind of the chivalrous thing to do, thus showing that, despite their differences and obvious disdain of each other, Kakashi cares enough about Ross to warn Zabuza that her happiness is what matters most. Wow, long winded! Anyway, glad you enjoyed the episode as a whole, and thanks so much for all your reviews!!!

Anyway... I loved this chapter! I'm kinda glad Kiba and Zabuza didn't actually fight, I think it's more dramatic this way. I'm looking forward to Kiba coming back in though ;D

Author's Response: Well, you know, of course she wants her life to be normal to some extent because, well, obviously her childhood and teen years were somewhat surreal XP But that aside! I'm glad you enjoyed this episode so much, and I figured writing a fight scene between them this early wouldn't be the best idea, so I agree that ending it with Kakashi stepping in was probably the best bet :D And, oh yes, Kiba will be making a reappearance, many of them if I get my way XD Anyway, thanks again for the review!!

I can't believe I didn't know about this for so long! Fire Escape was one of my favourite stories, so as I'm just calmly scrolling through the recently updated stories, and I happen across this! I'm glad you were surprised by the story, even if you did come in a little late :D It's all good though because it hasn't REALLY gotten started yet, despite the fact that they are already thirteen chapters :P Anywho, thanks for all the kind words about Kohaku and Zabuza, I must say I have put a lot of thought into their first days together and, so far, they are turning out so SO much better than I planned!

Aww, Zabuza makes a good daddy! That's so cute! And I really liked Choukan's last words, it kinda reflects back to everything that happened in the first story. It was all just a very sweet chapter. Nice job with this.
Author's Response: Of course he does! Well, he seems to be doing good so far at least! I must admit though, keeping him in character, even in his more mello character, is hard in this situation. I mean, I don't want to spoil his character with Kohaku, but it's just so easy because she's so cute :D As for Choukan's comment, heh, I think it really does reflect the first series, but I think it also shows a little of how he has matured himself, you know? Annnyways! Great update! I love Ross's demeanor and how she doesn't mind killing people who deserve it. There are too many stories where the Oc is all merciful and wouldn't harm a fly, so it's refreshing to see a change :)
