Konohamaru. You just gotta love the little guy. Really, he may actually catch up to Naruto. Has anyone else ever noticed he mastered the Rasengan as well as Naruto had at 12 and he doesn't even have the Kyuubi or Uzumakis' extra chakra? Another random observation on my part. Anyway, I love how Masumi just now seems to be realizing what she promised. Haha. And Konohamaru's endless exaggerations are so fun. I hope to see more of the little guy. He always brightens things up.

Good salesman. XP Well, I think a pocket knife is just a familiar thing for Masumi? And of course she doesn't want to be a shinobi, but having a weapon on hand at all times is a good thing. But since she's not a shinobi, it would be best to have a concealed weapon, and a pocket knife is easier to conceal than an ordinary kunai since you can just stick it in, well, your pocket. ;) Where did I learn all of this? Where to start.... The wooden katana stuff I already knew from somewhere.... Probably too much manga reading there. XP I've taken archery and thus already knew that stuff. I actually just used Wikipedia for the Japanese sword names, though I did already know some of the types of Japanese swords before my research began. And I've taken a few short sessions on Japanese weaponry at comic cons and whatnot. XD (Masumi: Thank you. Author's Response: Is she a vampire? Oh, wow, I never would have seen that question coming. No, she is not a vampire. X3 I'm honestly not the biggest fan of vampires and only like a couple vampire novels, so I definitely would never write a vampire fic. And I most definitely would NEVER combine vampires with Naruto. That's just like, blasphemy or something. XP I'm glad you liked this chapter as I found it mostly blah (It's just a build up for a few future chapters, really =_=). How dare you be late again, Niji-chan? You may not do it again (says the girl who updates maybe once a month and also didn't read this until about four days after post XD).

I went to look up a dao sword to see what it was. I accidentally typed in duo and ended up completely confusing myself. Then I saw my mistake and facepalmed. Did you have to look all of this up as research (you know you watch/read too much Naruto when you say research and think of Jiraiya XP) the weapon stuff? Because now you have me wanting to look up weapons. One of my characters in Cursed Saint now has hook swords because of you. Well, partially you, partially jet, but still.

I now see what Seiichi meant about her training methods. It's not nice to pick on little kids, Masumi, even if to you I doubt they're little (don't know why, but my weird reviewing mood has kicked in big time for part of this. I think you have me too used to joking around and writing as Kado on FFW). You should have at least let them get in a few moves or something.

This was a really fun chapter, and I laughed during the Ryota scene. Now she must face Seiichi alone. Muwhahaha! And he said queer. Yes, I know the meaning, but it's funny seeing as it now is used for slang for something else and also because it just seems old fashion to me.

Great chapter, Niji-chan, and I'm sorry if this review is weirder than most. Like I said, it seemed to hit harder than usual.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review, Sasa-chan. I've been expecting it. XD *goes to look up 'duo sword' herself* Hmmmm. Those are.... interesting..... O_o Ummmm, well, I honestly already knew most of it actually. The only stuff I looked up was to find more Japanese sword names (I already knew a few) and then the pricing on arrow shafts and tips. Of course, in the end I didn't need to know the pricing, anyway, but I did originally have pricing in the chapter. I ended up feeling that that was too complicated, though, and made the chapter awkward. *shrugs* But you really should look up weapons and stuff! And their proper usage! Because Hotaru from IP does Kendo, I had to study that stuff, and I've also been studying other sword forms and whatnot for Masumi's future training. It's really fun. XD (Masumi: I wasn't picking on them! It's their fault for getting cocky, and I honestly thought that they'd be better than that when I started the fight! I just forgot that all the original genin in Naruto were especially talented and that most weren't that good!) Yeah, yeah, shush it, Masumi. XP That Ryota scene was actually originally about the mom, not Seiichi, but as I was writing the later chapter when Seiichi finds out about her training, I realized that the mom wouldn't really freak out so much but Seiichi definitely would. Therefore it made more sense to be worried about telling Seiichi. X3 Queer.... Did I use queer in this chapter? *honestly can't remember and so go looks for herself* Ah, I did! Well, Ryota-kun does have a tendency to use out of date-ish terms. He's not really up to date on things as he's always too busy in his own little world of weaponry. You'll see more of him soon, but he is usually off in his own little world. Sorry, I saw that part and I just had to say something XD. And, just to get it out of the way, I think you spell genin wrong, or maybe the sites are just using them in an English way or something, but I see it spelled genin rather than gennin.

I always find it interesting learning new things about Masumi's thought process, so I really enjoyed this chapter (Wait, aren't most people flawed with selfishness....... Stop trying to make yourself look bad, Masumi-chan!!!).

I'm actually glad she's staying with the Kaedes. I didn't want to see them part so soon into the story. I mean they just came, what, four chapters ago? I'm not sure, and I'm not looking back, so yeah......

Author's Response: Okaaaay, Sasa-chan. I disturbance in the force. *rolls eyes* Only problem is, the Narutoverse doesn't have the force! It has chakra! So if anything, it would be a disturbance in the chakra! lol ;) I've been trying to figure out how to spell gennin/genin for the longest time. Some sites say gennin, and some say genin, and I've never read an official translation in novel form, only the online translations, so I have no clue. I think I just write whatever I feel like at the time since I'm not entirely sure. T_T (Masumi: I'm a terrible selfish human, and there's nothing you can do to change my mind. I'm too much of a coward to put myself out there because I care more about my own safety then anyone else's.) There's still a lot that's got to happen with the Kaedes. That's for sure. Hm....... I'm trying to imagine a time I've ever truly been angry. Extremely annoyed at brattiness is the closest I've come, I believe. I think the only way for someone to truly see me enraged would be if they hurt someone I care about. Wait, I may have that one time on FFW. A bit of cold fury did leak in there. So, still, only way to anger me is to hurt someone I care about. If you didn't notice, I was just typing what I was thinking there.

I found Masumi's pure annoyance in this chapter hilarious, simply because it was directed at the Santa Claus like man. I kept imagining Santa huddled up in a little ball out of fear. It was a funny picture. Then I began to wonder about my own anger, the thoughts of which are listed above.

Haha. Konohamaru was tailing her XD. And then asked her to be his girlfriend. I don't know what made me laugh harder - the sudden question or the comment on the, well, chest and the thought that followed. It's terrible that a 5 year old would feel more comfortable saying the above than me typing it........

Sweet! Half Prince reference. Haha, I saw that "four" thing yesterday as I was rereading it. I believe it is the first time I actually noticed it before.

Well, I wish I could say I was shocked, but I wasn't. I've actually been waiting for it since, well, I know about her moving with Seiichi's family. It was sad to read it, though. They had been such a nice group to read about and it would have been quite interesting to see her as apart of the entire Bridge Builder Arc. But yeas happy about the time they did spend together. *sigh* Looks like Masumi can't marry Haku after all ;).

Bonus chapter

I was near tears reading about her gift to him. She tried to warn him without telling him. Now I'm really curious about what will be going through his mind during that time. That would actually be interesting to see.

It was also sad to see that he did miss her, but it was very realistic for him to send Masumi-chan away. But, I mean, come on. Haku and Masumi would have been perfect for each other. Who needs Kabuto (told you reviewing your stories could put me in a weird mood).

Author's Response: Wait. What? (Masumi: You wanted me to marry Haku? O_o) Agh, now that you've mentioned this pairing, I can't get it out of my mind! >:O Near tears? Can I create such emotion in people? O_o Well, Peanut has been trying to inform me of my effect on people lately, but I still can't see its possibility. Yet, this makes me very happy. I'm an amateur writer, and I have only two goals in my writing. The first is to tell the person's story, whether anyone will ever hear it or not. The second is to make my readers feel something, anything. I want to reach people with my stories; so hearing of this reaction is really inspiring. I've brought out real, true emotion from you, and I want to continue being able to do this. Ah, well, does it help any if I tell you that Masumi and Kabuto's relationship isn't very steady and not even real romance and most likely is doomed?
