2007 Naruto Fanfiction Awards
Well, it's that time of year again. The Fourth Annual Naruto Fanfiction Awards are here! Just head on over to http://nfa.narutofic.org/ and put in your nominations for your favorite fics!Don't forget that any story nominated needs to have been written or updated between November 7th, 2006 and the present date. Nominations will be accepted until November 1st and voting will begin on November 2nd.
You've got lots of time to get your nominations in, but they need to be seconded/nominated by another person, so it's better to get the nomination in early than to get it in late.
Voting will close on January 1st, 2008.

Yay! I recently found the old ANF and read through some of the nominations and they were all really good. I have a question though... does it have to be a fic hosted on TONFA? That wasn't detailed in the rules, so I don't know if I'm allowed to nominate the fic I want to... I'm looking forward to this!

Rasengan_: You can nominate more than one, dun worry.
Archaic: If it's the same from last year, no, it doesn't have to be hosted on TONFA.
And to Priest: I can't remember from the previous year; can you nominate a fic of your own?
//I can't believe I've been here for about two years now. I'll have to go traipse around and find something I want to nominate- shouldn't be too difficult. =D

Ah, Dancer, you're so good at answering questions when I don't have access to a computer! I need to find a proper way to thank you some time. And yes, it is the same as last year-- you can nominate stories hosted on sites other than just TONFA. It's listed somewhere on the NFA site, but even I can't find it so I'm going to put it on the main rules page once I get the dye out of my hair ;) As for nominating your own stories-- yes, you can, but you'll need two other people to agree that it should be nominated. I'll put that up on the site, too.

I came here right after last years awards ended and I remember wishing I could be part of them. And now I made it staying here for this years! ^-^ I can't wait to nominate some stories! I just love the idea. With much love, A Vampires Butterfly ^.^

No problem, Priest! I'm glad to be of help to the site in what ways I can. If I think of any more questions that will probably be asked some time or another but aren't already answered, I'll be a wondrous annoying little individual and list them all for you. =)
DancerOfShadows @ 15/08/07 - 10:06 pm
Hey, Vampires Butterfly: You're definitely a part of it this year, my dear. First nomination in my inbox is for Clinging to Pillows ;) And Dancer, I don't find that annoying, I find that helpful~ Well, unless they're questions I've answered 75 thousand times :P
Priest @ 16/08/07 - 11:35 am
Oh yes, those are always annoying. Luckily for you, I hate doing that myself and try to thoroughly read through all of the comments. *Chuckles* (Now back to working on my sadly neglected fanfic...)

*blinks* You can't be serious....Really? *faints* Thanks for telling me...*ish amazed* With much love, A Vampires Butterfly ^.^

I got to the websight, but I could never find how you second a story, I hopless when it comes to computer-_-'HELP Please!?
ShadesofDeath @ 18/08/07 - 06:22 am
There's nothing up to second yet, ShadesofDeath. I've been easily distracted the last couple days and haven't had a chance to put anything up yet. Once I get the current nominations up, you'll be able to go to the "Nominated Stories" page. There will be a link labeled "Second This!". That's all there is to it :)

This is probably said somewhere but what is 'epic' on the dropdown menu for type of story (I assume that's what it is since it lists drabble, one-shot and chaptered) on the page for nominations.
@ 18/08/07 - 04:30 pm
An epic is...epic. That is, longer than a normal story. I think the regular range of words for a completed epic is 100,000 plus? I'm probably wrong there, but let's say a story has 50 chapters and each chapter is about 2,000 words. That would be an epic.
DancerOfShadows @ 18/08/07 - 04:53 pm
Yeah, it's about 100 000+ words (though I've fudged the lines before and accepted a 94 000-ish word story as an epic). If you want a good example of an epic, I'd suggest taking a peak at Frozen Moonlight by JaneDrew. It's 34 chapters with 210,796 words and exceptionally well written. It is, however, a Ruroken fic, which means the ninjas in it are of the slightly less samurai variety than we're used to ;)

oh cool! that ends on my birthday! i have a few stories to nominate but i can't decide which one..
