He was breaking.

The mask, which once held so much of himself, was falling to the ground. Cracking under eyes so filled with tears, the world blurring, shapes fading into eachother. Sobbing sliently, he leaned his head down.

It was amazing how easily his own words could hurt him.

They had left him alone.

'You're supposed to be stronger than that!' a voice, sounded so distant, 'Don't let them win! Be stronger!'

"I can't." he cried sorrowfully.

Slience.

It was always silent.

He couldn't get the memories out of his head. Flashes of light, like fire hurtling towards him.

Why did everything have to look like fire?

It reminded him of that night, so long ago, the memories still so sharp in his mind. If looking just right out of the corner of his eye, he could see the bodies. Screams kept him up at night, his own and others, muffled into the pillows. Anger, he no longer knew if he still felt it, or if it was just an echo.

Like everything else in his life.

It no longer mattered.

There was nothing left to keep him here.
