"What business do you have here? You are not welcome!"
I watch her.
Her dark eyes are wide, angry.
Clenched fists are trembling.
I can tell she is afraid.
"Relax, Nibi"
"Don't mess with me!"
She crouches and I take the recognized cue, stepping forward.
"I am Uzumaki Naruto. Please wait"
She pauses, looking up at me with softer eyes.
"U... zumaki? Uzumaki Naruto?"
"Hai"
She searches my eyes cautiously, slowly straightening.
"The nine-tailed Kyuubi..."
There is a silence.
She stares.
"Eyes deeper than the sea, more vivid than the skys... Naruto..."
I bow my head slightly, hiding behind long blonde bangs.
"Kyuubi. Why is it that you stand with the Akatsuki?"
She turns her gaze to the two now standing behind me, glaring.
"Have they taken you hostage?"
"No, Nibi"
"Have they forced you to lie to me?"
"No. Please listen to me, Nibi"
"I won't believe you. I'll help you, Naruto"
She crouches again, and before I can stop her she's changing.
Dark eyes blaze crimson, a strange flame engulfing her slender form.
I watch as two tails split from the fire, blazing a violent orange in the dying sunlight.
Kisame sighs.
"Stupid..."
Itachi stands silent, calm.
I crouch in front of them, closing my eyes as my body gathers the wild chakra.
Collect.
Shape.
Maintain.
The fires rise in seconds, trained, nine tails taking shape in a practiced swiftness.
She pauses.
"Uzumaki..."
"Stand back and return to your normal form, Nibi. I will be forced to hurt you if you attack. This is of my own free will. I am asking you to stop"
There is a silence.
She searches my eyes for a moment, gaze flickering over Kisame and Itachi.
"Hai"
The flames begin to die down, eyes fading back to a tranquil black.
She straightens.
I follow suit, calming the chakra around my body.
The tails fade.
"You have convinced me, Naruto. Now tell me this. What is it that you want with me?"
"Come with us, Nibi. We will not harm you"
"Why should I come with you? What is it that you want with me?"
She glares at the two behind me, untrusting.
"Give me a reason"
"Do you not want to be rid of the bijuu?"
She pauses.
"The bijuu..."
"Do you not want to be normal? To be rid of the anger and the stares, the distrust, the hatred... Do you not want to be loved again?"
She falters, eyes far away.
"Normal... Loved... Uzumaki Naruto, is what you say true? If I go with you... Will you remove the bijuu from my body?"
I meet her gaze steadily.
"Yes, Yugito. Yes"
Slowly, a soft smile touches her lips.
"I'll go"
Kisames chuckles.
Itachi says nothing.
