Gaara’s next class was literacy. Tenten strolled along with him until they reached the class. After school Gaara walked Tenten home. They were starting to like each other. Especially Tenten. He didn’t talk much but she liked the way he always knew what she was thinking.
“I have to pick something at my house then I can drop you off.” said Gaara breaking the awkward silence
“Okay, that’s fine.” she replied
They finally arrived at Gaara’s house five minutes later. Tenten recognized the people sitting at the table from the hallway.
“Hi Gaara, how nice to see you.” said Temari as they came into the house
“And he got a girl with him.” added Kankuro
“Hi, I’m Tenten.” she finally said
“It’s good to meet you. We saw you in the school with Gaara but you kept walking.” replied Temari
“We did that for a reason, why would I want to be seen with you?” said Gaara unemotionally
“Because we’re related.” answered Kankuro
“The question was rhetorical, not meant to be answered.” he retorted
Gaara and Tenten walked upstairs not wanting to continue their conversation with Kankuro and Temari. Gaara didn’t hate his brother and sister they just got on his nerves. He never had a friend like Tenten she was warm and compassionate and actually cared about him.
“So, this is my room.” he told Tenten
“When did you move here?” she inquired
“We moved our things in the house about a month ago but, we just moved ourselves in this weekend.” he replied
Tenten laughed as she pulled Gaara onto his bed giving him a hug and messing up his hair. Immediately Gaara pushed her away giving her a disgusted look.
“I hate affection.” he told her fixing his hair
“What do you do for fun?” she asked
“I paint and draw picture. I wouldn’t call it ‘fun’ but it keeps me busy.” he replied
“Wow, an artist, I’m impressed. Can I see some of these finished masterpieces?” she asked
“I guess, if you want to. I’m not so good though.” he answered back
Gaara walked into another room and came back with two sketch books filled with his pictures and poems.
“Here you go.” he said handing her the two books
She flipped through the pages in amazement. She read his poems and some of stories. She saw very depressing pictures with sorrow and sadness.
“This is so good. Stop being so humble.” she said gently pushing him
Gaara grabbed her and kissed her. He had been wanting to do that for a while.
“What was that for?” asked Tenten confused
“Since when do I need a reason?” asked Gaara smirking
Tenten kissed Gaara back pushing his sketch books back on his bed.
“I thought you didn’t like affection.” she whispered
“I can make an exception for you.” he said softly kissing her neck

The next day at Gaara’s house…
Temari and Kankuro walk downstairs earlier than usually expecting to see Gaara since he always woke up before them but this time he wasn’t sitting at the table doing his homework.
“Gaara’s usually the first one awake where is he?” asked Temari
“He did have that girl over.” said Kankuro winking
“I guess you’re right. When they come downstairs don’t say anything.” added Temari
Two minutes later Tenten and Gaara walked downstairs laughing about something that had happened earlier unaware of Kankuro and Temari sitting at the table.
“Have fun you two?” taunted Kankuro
Temari kicked him under the table. Making Kankuro scream in pain.
“Ignore puppet boy, he really doesn’t function this early in the morning.” replied Temari
“Me and Tenten are now a couple.” declared Gaara
“That’s great.” said Kankuro wincing in pain
The four of them drove off to school in a hurry. Tenten and Gaara walked to their math class together.
“Hey Tenten!” yelled Naruto
“Hi Naruto, sorry about the other day I was so late to class I couldn’t talk.” she apologized
“That’s okay. I was wondering if you wanted to go to the movies with me.” he asked quietly
“…actually I have a date with Gaara but, thank you anyway.” she responded
