Summary: "A former friend of Sasuke working with Uchiha Itachi... A strange thing..."
There is silence after that.
And I just stare into the dark horizon, feeling those words cut deep into my skin.

Chapter 3 by marionette
Author's Notes:
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.

I'm sorry for not updating for so long.
The main reason was I had writer's block.
Another contributing factor was I was busy with rehearsals and such for my school's end of the year performance.
I finally forced myself to write something.
Hopefully it will be better (and longer) next time. :(

Soft rays of light strech slowly across the quiet morning sky, reaching, like fingers into endless blue.

Blue...

Blue like his eyes.

I feel him against my chest now, sleeping soundlessly, cuddled close like a child.

His golden locks are messy, tangled with sleep, and his cloak hangs low past thin shoulders.

My own covers him, wrapped easily around the both of us.

He is warm.

Soft...

Silent...

Beautiful.

I run a finger slowly across a whiskered cheek, admiring the gentle golden tint of his skin.

He is like sunlight.

My sunlight.

That I can touch...

Taste...

And feel...

He stirs gently, hand roaming aimlessly up my neck, searching blindly...

His fingers curl slowly into my hair and he murmurs softly, lips tickling temptingly against my skin.

"Itachi-san"

I glance up, gaze steadily meeting Kisame's.

He stands underneath a nearby oak, leaned casually against the tired old trunk.

He looks strangely out of place.

"Don't you think it's a little wrong?"

I stare silently.

He looks away, gazing off into the horizon, watching the sunlight shine softly over the sleeping forest.

"It still makes me nervous when you look into my eyes like that, Itachi-san..."

"Continue what you were saying before, Kisame"

He glances back at me, frowning slightly.

I wait.

"I don't know. But this whole thing with Naruto... I mean, it's strange isn't it? He's a strong kid, you know, And he seems to care about that brother of yours a lot. Don't you think he'd have put up more of a fight?"

"He's only sixteen. And he's been through a lot of emotional trauma. Thusforth, his mind is easily manipulated"

There is a short silence.

Kisame sighs, pale eyelids falling closed.

"I see. I guess you're right. But still... He lets you touch him. It's weird isn't it? Like right now, he's sleeping on you for God's sake"

I run a hand gently down the boy's back, feeling him quiver slightly against my chest.

He's still asleep.

Another silence.

Kisame looks back at me again, shaking his head.

"Itach-san... You care about this kid, don't you?"

I say nothing.

Kisame sighs.

"I see..."
