I sincerely hope you have not abandoned this delicious, incredibly written, awesome story! I know that it must be the ever annoying, constant poking of real life that has prevented an update and I understand hence my patience. However please understand that it's been a long while since I felt so satisfied with reading fanfiction. Your story strikes a chord with me on so many levels: characterization (your characters are in depth, and developed well as to show all characters through and through even villains; not vilifying villains is tough and you manage very well); characters (I really enjoy that you chose Sakura as the main plot person because I do believe she is overshadowed far too often for being as developed and strong of a kunoichi as she is; I also love that the main view point is Akatsuki and fleshing them out to understand their mentality and why they chose the paths they did--i.e. Kisame) plot (it is very plausible which is what I enjoy immensely, it is the sort of thing that a ninja could and would do); pace of possible shipping (I know its hinted Itachi x Sakura and I'm not sure if her ties to Konoha will allow it to develop but I do appreciate that the hinting of shipping is always backed up with little signs and it's at a good pace which I appreciate. Getting to the shipping quickly is better suited for one shots anyways. Well regarding the pace of the story, I think you've done an excellent job on all aspect. You've made a timeline that is believable, characters that are believable, plot that is believable, shipping that is believable (especially with how slowly it develops shows a breadth of understanding of these characters most I think don't have). Well if I could give over 9000 I certainly would. I most wholeheartedly look forward to upcoming chapters. C:

Many sweet hours of fangirlish giggling and nervous stomach-twists later, I've caught up with the story on the Other Side. It is simply delicious, without parallel, and I'm glad I had your Naruto one-shots to slightly calm my instant withdrawal shakes with after I ran out of Contentious Heart. (I can't read the other fanfics before I'm through the series' original plots to not get spoilered.) I've re-read the first third already, and I hardly ever take time to re-read anything.
You weave wonderful magic on the full width of the Naruto character base too, by the way: just a few chapters ago, a certain Naruto-Hinata side moment made me cackle out loud, and that pair must already be the most obnoxious plot element after Konohamaru's gang I can think of. Stop making me reassess all the bits I think I don't like about the Naruto universe! Or, on second thought, don't stop. X-)

I don't really read all that much fan fiction, but every now and then I optimistically look for the sort that's comfortably loyal to the original characters. I wandered in here. I found this story. I was sold. A few hours later, I missed a bus because of this fanfic. By now I've missed my planned bedtime by 3 hours, but I simply had to read it up to what's available.
I hope you'll continue with the story. It's going to get harder and harder, I guess, to keep up the wonderful tension, but don't doubt that we're drooling for more. I'll be back to see if you continue the story, and I can't really bring myself to curse you for it although I'd like to. I created an account for this review, to thank you for a wonderful half a day spent engrossed in your work.
I found a few (impressively few, given the length) minor typos on my way. If you feel it'd be useful, I'll go through the text again and drop you note of them somehow. It would give me a welcome excuse to read through all this repeatedly. Mmmmm. :)
Impressive and well-studied faithfulness to characters and plotline. Intriguing original twists and plotting. Delicious, very delicious tensions drawn to the length these characters deserve. And I'm quite impressed that you've single-handedly made me infatuated with a set of characters I previously found relatively uninteresting compared to my personal favourites. And the tie-in to the manga has been simply perfectly timed.
