Aww.. Poor kid.. :( He's so jumpy and scared. I like this idea. Kano-kun is so... pitiful. :'(
Now, for criticism...
Overall, great job. You could use more detail. There was also this one instance: "The thought kind of that reassured me." After re-reading it, I realized you were probably trying to say "The thought of that reassured me" but yeah. Just thought I'd point that out. Otherwise, you should continue this story. :)
