1900 hours until mission time...be prepared or face certain doom. The words fluctuated within Quen's head, she brought her black gloved hands to her crimson-haired head and held them there, not in fear or out of anxiety, but simply blocking "his" voice or moreover his very existence from her mind.
Quen Trident was seventeen, and had only just recently become a SeeD. Her mentor and instructor, Rika Puelo had taken time off from teaching to accompany Rika on her SeeD missions, offering support and acting as a fellow comrade in arms.
Quen's commanding officer had been a tall, blond-haired man with deep green eyes and seemed to have an unpleasant expression permenantly etched on his face. His name was Ruben Kain, or simply "Kain" for short. Quen's closest friends; Kia Skyway, and Rei Wadonis also became SeeDs and accompanied her on her missions, though she had only recently recovered from her first.
It had been two whole weeks since her first assignment as an official "SeeD", and Quen was qualified to go on numerous contracted assignments and various Garden-Related missions. With Missions coming and going, and still having SeeD written tests to take, Quen felt more than overwhelmed.
Quen sat at her desk in her private SeeD dorm studying for her next written test when there was a loud knock at the door. Quen looked up from her reading, "What do you want?" she asked. "Hey it's me!" a male voice responded through the door. "Aren't you gonna let me in?" he asked. Quen got up from her desk and stretched, "I suppsoe..." she said as she reached the door, sliding it open.
Standing in the doorway was a young man of average height. He had jet-black hair that he wore short in the back and allowed bangs to gather over his eyes in the front, he had dyed a few portions of his straight black hair a neon "blue" color. He had a chisled chin and an athletic frame and golden eyes, his skin was tan and wore the traditional formal "SeeD" uniform. His name was Rei. "What's with the uniform?" Quen asked. "That's why I'm here, they're holding an urgent SeeD meeting in the headmaster's office, every SeeD is required to be there." Rei explained. "Oh alright, I'll meet you there in a minute." Quen replied, shutting the door and changing out of her black mid-driff jacket and leather pants, into her SeeD uniform. Unlike most girls, Quen chose to wear pants with her uniform instead of a skirt, she claimed she disliked the "breeze."
