"Four"
Four
The Chinese hate it
Because
It sounds like their word for death.
Death is
To die
To have died
To have been killed
To kill.
But why?
To kill is
To end a life
To extinguish
A bright flame
Of this earth
To kill is
To be a murderer.
To be a murderer is
To go mad
To be changed forever
To never go back
To have the world tinged
By a darkness
A world tinged by darkness is
Maddening
Destructive
A killing of the soul.
A killed soul is
To be dead and
Yet alive
The end of one's life
Death.
This is four.
Four is
An obsession.
An obsession is
A pulling force
All consuming
Destructive
Murderous
Which becomes
Death.
This is
Four.

And apparently I need more words to hit the two hundred word count, so here comes the drabble. XD Four is a very integral part of my life. Even in the little things, it's evident. It's a very strong influence. For instance, when asked how many chicken nuggets I wanted for dinner the other day, I thought to myself, "Well, four is a good number, but that's not really enough, so what's four times two? Eight! So I'll have eight chicken nuggets!" Or I'll try to take a number of steps that is either four or a multiple of four, or I'll chew four times, or I'll put the volume on a number that is a multiple of four.
Four is really evident when I type. Instead of using '...' I'll generally use '....', and when I drag our a word, I'll make the dragged out letter typed four times or a multiple of four. Like, 'kaaaay!' If you look above at the line I used as a break between the poem and my drabble, and if you're seriously bored enough to count the little hyphens out, there are twenty-four of them. Not only is that a multiple of four, but if you square the first digit, you'll get the second digit, which is four. See: 24 => 2^2 => 2 x 2 = 4
Well, I think my extra drabble is more than long enough to hit the necessary word count, so I'll be signing off now. :3

Chapter notes: My first piece for you is a little old but still near and dear to my heart. It's a poem that I wrote in the fall of 2011, an interesting time in my life, that focuses on what the number four can mean, and does--or at least did at the time--mean to me. If it changes your view on anything, or if it touches you in the slightest, I would love to hear about it. Or if you just think it's demented and weird I would like to hear about that, too. ^_^
