In the year 3000 a war broke out between the human's and thenew race, called youkai. Demon's flooded from every inch of the planet and soon over powered the human's causing them to become and extinct race. During the time when Youkai were taking there reign however a woman escaped with her 3 year old daughter, she ran as far as she could all the way to the top of the highest cliff in her valley. When she arrived she fell to her knee's tired of running for days, she placed her daughter in front of her and began to pray.

"Oh lord's, God's...oh mighty gods. Save my daughter and keep her safe, let her live among these demon's, let her be my survivor...our survivor and our savior!"

With that the daughter and the mother began to glow a light blue. Before the mother disapeared, for she had sacrificed herself in order to keep her daughter safe, she whispered in her ear.

"Syru Nagani, remember your name. You will be Humanity's angel.."

As she said this she calmed and then the mother dissapeared leaving little Syru alone on the top of the cliff. Suddenly it began raining and Syru began to cry. This was a sign that the last of the human race had been wipped clean of the earth, every human that is except Syru. She looked up to the gray sky that had a red-orange tint to it from all the fire, and she knew that she would have to save the human's. Her eyes bagan glowing and they changed from brown to light blue. With that she closed her eyes and the sky flashed with lightning.

I heard voice's, just barely, they were coming closer but I had to stay hidden lest I be found and hurt like last time. I was different and I knew that, I didn't know why, all I knew was that I had awoken one day near a cliff and I knew that my name was Syru Nagani, since then I had found out the hard way that I was different. I touched the fresh, bleeding, scratches on my neck and it hurt, I had an intake of breath and suddenly realized my mistake. I let go of my neck and covered my mouth so that they didn't hear me. I stayed still and fortunately they past by. I uncovered my mouth and placed my head on my knees, sitting on the ground covered by long peice's of grass. I had found this hidding spot near a fence, no one ever touched the grass which made it the ideal hiding spot. I was about to get up and walk into the forest for food when a voice sounded close to my ear.

"What are you doing here little one? You don't look like any Youkai I've ever seen before."

I jumped and didn't even look at him, instead I started running for the forest. I heard him yell after me but couldn't make out the words, I just kept my focus on running away from this Youkai. Hopefully he wouldn't be one of the fast one's and I'd be able to get away safely. Unfortunatelly he was a fast Youkai and before I even got 2 meter's into the forest he appeared in front of me and stopped me with a look...only a look and I was on my knees begging for him to leave me in peace. I was only 10 years old but I had wisdom beyond my years from all those years spent alone in the wild. My scar covered bodytrembled as I heard him appraoch me, suddenly I felt hot air on my neck were my cut was and I tried to pull the bandages up higher to keep the scent in.

"Why are you hurt? You need to stop the bleeding."

I looked up sruprised and found my self staring intobrown eyes, covered by glasses. One was half closed with a scar over top and the other looked cheery but also had a few tiny wrinkles under it. The man had a kind face but still when I looked at the fangs that he bore when he smiled it scared me half to death and I dropped to the ground with regret in my heart. Everything went black and I faintly heard someone calling me again, but not by my name.

I watched as the brown haired little girl slept in a ball on the futon. She must have never learned how to sleep properly. I watched her with curious eyes, she had no tail, no fangs, no claws, no different ears and her eyes were a strange color I had never before seen on a youkai. She tossed and turned on the futon and suddenly her eyes flicked open, she let out a gasp and once again got on her knees and yelled.

"please don't hurt me, please I'll do anything."

I looked at her and let out a small chuckle saying.

"anything you say?"

"YES I PROMISE YOU ANYTHING!!! I CAN COOK, AND HUNT...anything you say, I'll do it."

I looked at her again she really was afraid, I reached out a hand to steady her shaking shoulders and she flinched. I pulled back a little but soon resumed my motion. I steadied her shoulder's with both hands and said.

"I'm not going to hurt you little one...what's you name?"

She looked at me through horror filled eyes, and suddenly relief washed through her as she realized my words were true. She sat up straight and wiped her tears away, then put a huge grin on her face.

"My name is Syru Nagani...what's yours?"

I smiled at her and bore my fangs, she inched away a little but then remembered I was a friendly youkai.

"My name is Rikku Hasagaara(me:ooh gaara I Iikey!!)

She smiled and then looked around, that's when I noticed the wound on her neck again. I pointed to it and said.

"What happened, you need to get that fixed up...here let me."

I moved towards it and she flinched slightly again.

"It must hurt how'd you get that?"

She titled her neck to the side to expose it a little more while I cleaned it up with liquids and tissu's.

"I was attacked...again by a youkai."

I looked at her and her eyes looked distant as if she was looking into the past. I moved closer to her neck and said.

"I'm going to lick it now so it can heal. ok?"

She looked at me in confusion. Then asked why, I grinned at her and flicked my tail over and twitched my ears.

"I'm a wolf youkai, I have healing power's in my saliva. It'll heal that gash within seconds."

She smiled again, a big grin spreading across her face as she tilted her neck again eager to have it healed. I smiled and moved towards her neck. I licked it then pulled away and saw that it was gone, leaving only a scar. I then looked at her and saw she was playing with my tail. I laughed.

"What kind of Youkai are you Syru-san?"

"Oh I'm not a youkai! I don't know what I am but I'm not a youkai."

I looked at her, eyes wide. I was confused yet this news gave me a sudden interest in her.

"Not a youkai hmmm? Well Syru were gonna have to fix that, because it seems youkai were giving you a hard time because you weren't one. Lets see what we can do in time, until then you can stay here with me, I'll take care of you. I have to go check something right now though so you stay here and make yourself comforatable."

She nodded and I left for me office, librairy. It was time to do a little research on Syru's past, why was she the only non-youkai I had ever met?

The man had a very kind face, athough he had a scratch over one with two other scar's crossing through that one, he was kind. A wolf youkai seemed interesting to me, I had never met one before but had heard of them several times. I looked around his house, even though he told me to stay were I was I knew he would be able to find me with his nose, I found the room he was supposed to be in and peared inside. He was standing next to a huge bookshelf looking through multiple books for information, I kept on looking at his tail and ears and his claws. He was bare footed and wore a shrine outfit that suited him well. I saw his ear twitch then he spun around to look at me, I quickly ducked out of the door way before he could see me then I stood still. When I thought the coast was clear I looked back through the door and found him on his knee's staring at me like a little puppy. I laughed and he came towards me and picked me up. He put me on his shoulders and carried me to his desk, he sat me down there and then took out a measuring tape.

"What are you doing?"

I asked curiously as he put the ribbon around my head.

"Measuring your head to see if I have a big enough pot to fit you in so I can eat you!"

I laughed because I knew he was joking, although I had only known this man for a short while I felt connected to him he was the only father figure I had ever known.

"I need to measure your head because we have to make you a disguise, you will have to attend school and we will need to make sure your safe."

I sat eagerly on his desk staying still as he measured my head, and the rest of my body so he could make clothes suited for a youkai girl. We had decided I was to become a wolf youkai as well, since he was like my father. After a few weeks we had begun my training of how to act as a wolf youkai, I had to grow my nails to make them claws, and grow my hair so it would cover my human ears. We had figured out that I was a human, a race that had supposedly existed along time ago, every seemed to have forgotten though. We trained in self defence and I became even better then Rikku sensei...in time. He made me a pair of wolf youkai ears out of his fur and also a tail. We also had to sharpen my teeth to make fangs and after a couple months of training he presumed me ready for the youkai world. I was truly happy that I was finally gonna belong in the youkai world. From being around him so much I had eve begun to smell like a youkai...but everything that's good has to end sometime.

She was groing and I could see she was determined to make a new life...but at the same time I always saw something special in her as well. It was like a glow that wouldn't go away...she had a special perpose here and I knew this...she however had yet to learn this. I continued training her until I knew she was ready to leave me, because I knew that giid things have to end sometime. I knew their would be people coming after me eventually. Although she didn't smell human anymore everyone could see there was something different about her.

"Rikku sensei? Sensei? SENSEI!!!!!"

I was brought from my thoughts as we sparred together, I was getting old now; after living for over 1000 years I was starting to slow down in my physical actions, however my mental capabilty quikened with time. She was quick for a human, the way they were described in the very small paragraph in my book it made them sound very weak and vulnerable and stupid. She though was fast...and even though I hated to admit it she eventually grew better at me. What really surprised me though was how she kept accelerating. She had pretty much grown unstoppable I knew that if she left she would be able to protect herself.

"Come on sensei...just a little bit longer?!?!"

I turned around to tease her, she liked keeping busy, and when she had gotten better then me I got tired easily and she got bored...it was just a big chain of things that would go wrong if she wasn't kept active.

Today was not the time though, today I knew was the day when she would leave. It would hurt me...wolf youkai weren't ever supposed to show their emotions, but I let her see them this one time. Because to me she was my daughter, I loved her and it would pain me more than anything to see her leave.

"No I'm sorry Syru...not today...these our are last moments together."

She had grown into a beautiful young wolf youkai, even though she was only 16 she had grown into one of the most beautiful Wolf youkai women I had ever met she would be looked after by the other youkai men she would meet. She would however know the right decisions to make and would be able to take care of herself.

"Huh...Rikku sensei...what's wrong?"

I looked at her and could see concern in her eyes. She walked towards me and put a hand on my arm.

"It's time isn't it?...I said I would but, it's gonna hurt isn't it?"

I nodded slowly, and put my hand on her shoulder. There was one last thing to do before she left. I lifted my head and looked into her eyes I leaned forward and she kept a straight face as I bit into her neck. I needed to mark her as my daughter. She was strong and a good daughter I was proud of her. After drawing blood and letting it run down I did something speical for her, I reached to my wrist with my claw and cut it clightyl drawing blood. I placed it over her bite mark and let a drop fall. She now had my healing powers and a bit of my strength.

Now was when she had to leave, we packed her stuff and I gave her some things she would need on her way into life. She accepted everything without a single tear and without a frown, but instead with a smile. They would be coming soon and I would be safe if she left, it wasn't for my sake I was sending her off but for her's so she would be protected in the big world. After she packed I made one last supper and we reminisced on good times and also not so good times, thankfully there was hardly any of those. She took her bag and stepped outside, before leaving and never looking back she turned around to hug me and placed a kiss on my cheek. I did the same to her and then pushed her in the direction of the road, She gave one final look then set off in the direction of the road. I saw the last glimpse of her long hair fall behind her as she turned the ridge but could still smell her. A tear came to my eyes and I ended up staying their till all of her scent was gone.

"Welcome class, we have a new arrival that just transfered here today from the continent over, now everyone be nice and welcome her with generosity please."

The class went silent and I knew that was my queu to walk in, so I did. Opening the sliding door I took a step forward and then closed it behind me and continued walking towards the front of the class. I felt an odd silence hang over the class this time one that hadn't been there before. I felt all eyes on me but I wasn't nervous just wanted to get it over with.

'Gods why do they have to stare like that?...'

I thought to myself all while stnading there waiting for my new sensei to say something.

"Oh well hello, will you introduce yourself to us?"

I looked at her with an odd glare and I could see right through her she was one of those new teachers that had pretty much no clue what she was doing and was trying to control a situation which needed disipline. She had short Brown hair and tiny rimmed glasses. She was a fish demon I could tell my her smell and the gills placed where her ears should have been. She was pretty with kind eyes but that was a quality not needed in a sensei.

I nodded my approval to introduce myself then I stepped forward and looked at the class. I was trying to see if there were any other Wolf Youkai like me but just as I thought there were none. Wolf Youkai were rare and there was usually never more than two in a school. Maybe I would see another one somewhere else in the school. I looked at everyone then I took a tentative bow. I needed to protect myself so I would try to refrain from doing anything out of the normal for a wolf Youkai. I needed to be elegant and yet I needed to have an air of leadership.

"Hello, my name is Syru...

I also needed to hide my forbidden name.

"My name is Syru Hasagaara, I transfered here form another town. It's nice to meet you all"

Everyone looked at me in awe, I was probably the only female wolf youkai in the school. The guys seemed to have that special little shine in their eyes that made me sick to my stomach. I tried my best to not give them dirty looks instead I looked to the teacher and asked.

"Where will I be sitting?"

She smiled and pointed to a seat at the end of the far right row near the window. I smiled and made my way towards my desk. I felt the eyes of the boys in the class on my back as I walked. I kept my head straight and kept walking. I was a wolf youkai and had to keep my reputation up. As I came to my desk I put my bag down and sat down. I looked up to the front of the class and found everyone slowly turning around to continue their work. The day went on and I kept seeing some of the guys turn around and look at me with a sick grin on their faces.

Around 10:00 am, the teacher stood and headed to the door and waited a second before sliding it open to reveal a young silver haired boy making his way down the hall at full speed. At that moment I sensed it , the young boy running towards the classroom was a wolf youkai. My head pounded instantly and I knew that the youkai senses I had developped realized it right away that he was a possible mate for me. yes Rikku sensei had taught me all about the ways of the wolf youkai. But then the human instincts kicked in and I realized that I would never be able to mate with a youkai since I was a human. I turned my head away from the young boy as he walked into the class saying sorry to everyone for disturbing them and then headed for his seat which just so happened to be right in front of me. There was no way I was gonna hold onto my sanity for long with this this sexy wolf youkai sitting in front of me. He was cute of course but I could see that he was a total clutz. He tripped on his way to the desk. This was going to be a long day.

We were sitting in class doing some work on the ancient history of Muyo teri and I was doing all I could just to not stand up and yell to them that there was such things as humans and that they weren't just mythical creatures to them. I guess for me it was just weird.

Lunch came around and that's when problems started to happen, that's when life got even more complex then it should have been. I was just getting ready to leave the class when A tall fox youaki came up to me and said.

"Hey Cutie, you wanna go do something later?"

I laughed in his face and said nothing as I continued to get my stuff. He leaned closer to me and put his arm against the wall in front of me as if trying to make his point clear. I looked sideways at him and saw how pretty his face was, just wasn't interested in a dirty kitsune. I guessed that he had never been turned down before. He had to girls standing on each side of him giving me dirty looks, one was a bird demon and the other was a fish...how lovely. He leaned even closer to me and put his face up to mine.

"Come on lets go have fun together me, you and Pan and Fumi."

The girls snorted as if in disgust and gave me more dirty looks. That's when I lost it.

I slammed my write fist into his gut and sent him flying across the classroom with my foot. I calmy looked at the two girls Pan and Fumi and said.

"Want one too?"

They ran to help their majesty and I made my way out of the classroom, only to be followed by the little wolf demon. I smirked and continued walking as he caught up with me.

"Hey that was really cool...how did you do that."

I looked at him and said with another smirk.

"Lots and lots of practice."

He laughed and we walked together outside while talking.

"So where did you transfer from?"

"Anou...well I transfered from another city I don't really remember the name of it because I kinda lost all my memories of that place."

"Oh I'm sorry to hear that."

"It's ok they must not have been important if I forgot them."

I lied to the poor kid but I had to in order to keep my secret...well secret. Theday went on again slorwly jsut like before but I learnt a few things about my new interest.

His name was Ritsuka Yumeguro, of course I called him Yume-kun. He was a wolf demon from a prestigeous family but had chosen to go to public school because it was much more fun. His whole family were wolf youkai. I told him that I had no family and loved on my own. He once again felt pity for me but I shook it off. When it was finally time to go home he called me to the front of the school and said goodbye to me.

"Sayonara Syru-chan. See you tommorow"

"Sayonara Yume-kun..."

I guess I had made a new friend here in my new life. I thought things would be fine here I would fit in perfectly but once again good things never last.

I was walking home and across the parking lot when A shadow loomed over across the light of the parking lot. I looked up and saw someone short with wings stnading on the top of light post.

Great more trouble?

I looked up to the figure again but it didn't budge, I took a step forward then another nad another. Finally after getting halfway across the parking lot the figure jumped down with a grace I had to gape at. Apparently it was a she...she stood out of the light but I could tell by her voice it was very young and girly. Not to mention she was short which added to the young part.

"Your Syru..."

"Hasagaara? yes!"

She laughed and then stepped into the light a little. She was indeed short...very short in fact she had a tiny purplr skirt on and a purple shirt with fish net at the top and her abdomen showing. She had arm guards on that were at least fashionable and matched her ankle guards. She was wearing high heels which made me guess why she was here. She had short dark red hair which covered one eye and was spiky at the tips. Her eyes were gold and she had a giant cape at the back covering something.

"Ha...no I definitely wasn't going to say Hasagaara...I was going to say...Nagani."

I was in total shock...how the hell did she no my human name? She walked closer and as she did she looked shorter and shorter when she was right in front of me I had to end up bending my knees to look at her or at least crane my neck.

"H-how do you..."

"Know your HUMAN name? Easy we are definitely out to iliminate you! human's don't belong on our world...definitely you shall be iliminated by me."

OK she was DEFINITELY getting on my nerves.

"Ummmm so you wanna fight me?"

"Yes of course and you'll defin-"

"Definitely loosed I know...yeah ok whatever shorty I'm not fighting a kid!"

She dropped her head and when she looked back up she looked pissed.

"HEY I'M NOT A KID...I'M OLDER THAN YOU!! AND YOU WILL DEFINITELY LOOSE FOR SURE NOW!! I AM NOT SHORT"

I laughed in her face and took my defensive pose.

"Come at me with all you've got then."

She stepped back surprised and slowly took her offensive pose...at least she tried but it was kind of off...or there was something different about it. She suddenly charged at me with a forceable speed. Damn...what had I gotten myself into?
