Summary: Don't take the title "Smile" as a promise that this will be happy. Rated for angst (as usual) and from Naruto's POV. (I'm good at writing him angsty...) I haven't written poetry in ages, but a dark poetic streak hit me (thank Nuskuin_Rokotsu, cough cough), and I came up with this during English. While we were taking notes...Had to write in between notes. Bleh.

Author's Notes:
Disclaimer: Don't own Naruto.
I used a lot of idioms in this, so you'll have to think hard if you don't get it at first. If you don't get it, please don't ask what it means...explaining my poetry is not something I enjoy.
Painful solitude
Set aside
Nothingness consumes
Age-old routine
Flash of white
Dull of blue
Crescent of teeth
Growing, stretching
Building on the mask
Mocking laughter
Empty of mirth
Fills me with joy
Lost company
Pull the mask
Hardens to black
Cold pinpricks
Eyes of stars
Gazing soullessly
Crystals fall
Spheres of blue
Close to weep
Lost in the mask
Growing, stretching
Can’t run away
Hatred of the white
Love of the dark
Loosing sight
Deepening power
Forgetting grip
Forgetting heart
New day
Replace the mask
Hollow smiles
