from the first day that he vowed to protect her, sakura knew she had a bodyguard. she joked about it with friends until one day he protected her
_with his life_ in the forest of death. they should have been enemies, but he could never be her enemy.
when sakura was mourning over the loss of sasuke. lee was her shoulder to cry on.
at 18 sakura died a little inside when nobody came to her 18th birthday party. except lee. lee bought her a necklace with a diamond heart. sakura cried.
2 days later they began to go out.and Sakura was proud.

then one day sakura came down with.. something. nobody could tell what. Lee got Tsunade as soon as he could tell it wasnt _just_ a cold. the night Sakura coughed up blood when lee was staying up to keep an eye on her he *carried* her to Tsunade's arriving at exactly 1:01 am. Tsunade wasnt the least bit pleased with her night call but woke up and checked over her, she ran a few tests, while lee sat patiently holding sakura in his lap, holding her hand.
four hours it took Tsunade to diagnose poor Sakura. and when she did she nearly passed out. it was a rare virus with a extremly hard to obtain cure.. as soon as the blond haired med nin/6th? hokage said that she saw fire in lee's eyes.
he asked what seemed like a million questions, before he set off to get the cure.. An Uchiha's blood.

Lee reached the door to the youngest Uchiha's home. he knocked and the door opened maybe a half inch.. "what do you want." the one and only antisocial Sasuke UCHIHA asked. Lee smiled that HUGE creepy smile. then he said brightly
"i need your blood"
CRACK!!!!

lee got the door slammed in his face. He then started a youthfullness speech. The uchiha was locking windows. then he started crying for gai-sensei. he got let in REAL fast. Sasuke could put up with one of them at a time no more.
Sasuke rebolted the door shut. "explain yourself"
"well" lee began "to save my dearest i need your blood" sasuke quirked an eyebrow.
"Sakura's in trouble?"
Lee nodded. "and tsunade said she needs a dose of your blood"
Sasuke opened the door lee walked out. sasuke calmly said
"lead the way"
