Oh, the pain and suffering Naruto had to feel when Kakashi basically abandoned him. I felt it, you felt it. But then we see Kakashi too feels such deep anguish that he's willing to submit to Naruto. It's actually quite beautiful. I really love this pairing. *hugs*

you know, there is something so absolutely beautiful about this piece of angst.
the way you wrote these two characters, both suffering in their own, private ways from grief unbearable about the one they let get away, the one they let escape. i love the dynamics between the two of them, the way interacted with each other. their masks are heavy masks, so heavy they cannot let them fall, even when they are alone with people they should have trusted implicitly. but i really like that facet of your story. not only does it add to the realness of the story, it adds to the world they come from. they are ninja, they must trust only in themselves and their hokage, to do otherwise could end up in certain death.
the anger, the desperation that poured from every word you wrote in this story was tangible, palpable, and needy. i could feel naruto's desperate need to understand why kakashi would turn him away for somebody else, the need to understand. he's desperate and we can tell. he's seeking to understand the truth and he's bringing us along with him, searching for the truth in kakashi, who's willing to let him do whatever he needs, whatever he wants.
this is heartbreaking and deep. powerful and moving. and i love that you ended it with the phrase, "Naruto is a killer." it completely summarizes the story, it reminds us all that naruto may be lovable and adorable and innocent, but he's not stupid and he's not weak. you did an amazing job baby.
