Be Prepared

Heyo everyone! Unfortunetly we're still having problems with the site so the moderators and I will be doing a clean up of the site. This means in one week's time (22nd Nov 08) I'll be purging our Juvi-Fic category and deleting ghost members.

Please be prepared for this, if you currently have a story that is in the Juvi-Fic Category please make sure it's up to the latest standards of the rules and we'll move it back into the general reading area.

Thanks mates, keep up the quality work!

Thankyou Everyone!

G'day guys! After more than a month I've finally settled into my new place, got phone and internet access. A grand thankyou to Priest and the Moderation team for keeping everything organised!

The unfortunate problem is for some reason I can't access the site reguarly so for now, until I figure what's causing it I'm still heavily reliant on our amazing Mods to enforce the rules.

Cheers and inspiration, keep on reading, writing and reviewing!

Downtime/Uptime

Aaaand we're back. Hopefully you won't have to hear from me anytime soon, hey? *grin*

Priest out!

October 03, 2008 12PM
Geez... sorry about the extended downtime, guys. We're just waiting on the server host to merge everything onto the new servers, and then we'll be able to get everything up and running again. Apparently it'll all be done by midnight pacific time tonight, according to the email I was sent.

On that note, you'll notice the little donation button to the side. That donation button goes directly to the host's donation page, and means it's sent directly to the host and not into my pockets. If you can help out, that's great. If you can't don't worry about it.

It's Priest again; looks like we've got things under control between Tucka and I. We're working on getting the site fully online again as soon as possible.

Priest here! Bet you didn't think you'd hear from me on this front page at all since I handed the reigns over to Tucka, hey? It's a little depressing why I'm back, though.

Yes, I have noticed that the website has gone down. This was not intentional, as I haven't even looked at the stats for TONFA since the administration change. However as of 8:30 this morning the Customer Support Team for the server host contacted me. Apparently TONFA is quite the popular little site-- so popular that we've managed to crash the database server. Whoops. They took the "offending" database offline, and now we're working on a solution to get everything running again. There are two options available to us, and I've already notified the TONFA administration/moderators of these options on the forums.

Cross your fingers, here's to hoping TONFA's only down for a short period, hey?

On the road again!

Aha! Sorry for the late reply guys! Running late on a work report and then I got to go cross country for my very first scientific convention! I have to say I did all right and if, in say five years you look up a distribution map of the Narrow Nosed Planigale and it has an ever so slightly greater northern distribution, well know that a Narutard found that out!

Otherwise everything is running smoothly! The BiC was a success and I've finally got around to putting up our Hall of Fame! Since I want our BiC to have a bit of glitter about it, would our winners like to write a bit of an acceptance speech and we can add it to the page! Our first prizes are starting to come in so why not pop around and aim high next year!

I hope all winners pass on their thanks to Thei11, TONFA's Official Artist! He's now got his own page for you to contact him about commissions, and if your looking for ways to grab the reader's attention, one of these will put you ahead in the game!

As always, keep up the good work, read the rules, visit the forums and have fun!

Vote'n Time!

Okay guys! The day is here! This is a case of, cross my fingers and pray to deity of choice and hope this works. Please, if you find a loophole into voting twice, don't be a tosser and use it. It would be such a dishonest win. Most of all my thanks to everyone who nominated and my hearty congrats to everyone nominated. For those who weren't I hope this spurs you on to greater heights!

And the winner of our random voting nomination is.... Dag, by virtue of a dirty bucket and names written on scraps of paper. Sorry it isn't more transparent but it seemed like a simple solution! Thankyou very much for taking the time!

Heyo mates... Come on guys!  I've had such an apathetic response to this competition, it's really disheartening. If you guys aren't going to get excited over this, is there a reason for me to host other competitions? Can't you tell me what I'm doing wrong?

*Sigh* Why put yourself through this?

Heyo! Everyone! It is my pleasure to announce TONFA's first annual Best in Category and Top Reviewers competitions! Nominations open August 1st so start looking for your favourites! Not only will winners get the recognition of their peers, they will get a special category only winners can submit to, a graphic award for your summary so the public will recognize you and, my favourite of all, an art prize from the magnificent artist above, thei11!
Rules are here!

I am not happy. I've been bludging around this week because, heck after four years I've finally earned my Bachelor I think I've earned it. I come back to find a plagiarist has been identified in our midst. I believe humiliation is our best deterrent and I'm also hoping, as the Chinese saying goes, execute one to warn a thousand. Thusly I present to you,

darkxratha
Stolen: Funk Me Up and Hide & Seek from Neko Izumi of AFF.net
Mangled: Broken and Replacement from Kativachan of AFF.net
Stolen in Part: Illusions of Nightmares from Cepheus of AFF.net

darkxratha has been banned from the site, and this will be the treatment for any others I find out. If, say, a few fics of dubious origins were to suddenly vanish I won't make a big deal of it. If however I do find out others, you will get the same treatment- you will be banned from the site, all stories deleted and a looovely little memorial to you on our Black Book. Plagiarists of TONFA will not enjoy our hospitality.

I think some of you are saying Hey, she's only 12! Guess what! It's in the rules! I told everyone how I would deal with it and I stand by them. I opened my in box to count twenty-eight emails of redhot fury and I don't care to do this again.

Which brings me our second problem. I made the 700 word minimum rule to discouraged i drank red cordial and typed this into the submission box fanfiction. Because so many people don't read the rules I have gotten sick of personalizing messages. Now just have a copy/paste one informing you that if I find a submission isn't a poem, drabble or prologue, and doesn't meet that 700 word mark and doesn't have standard readability, I will give you one week warning to amend it or I will delete it. Forget the Juvi-fic category, if you don't care about your fic then I certainly don't.

It's not all doom and gloom! Talking with our marvelous artist thei11, we're organizing a special deal for TONFA authors only, for everyone who's ever wanted a title page or a picture of their OC to glam up their story, he's agreed on half price commissions! Imagine something as marvelous as Kana up their gracing your story, and drool over his gallery (he has left paper towels for your convenience.)

Heck, if I think it won't be abused I'll allow any story with 2500 words a title art submission to show it off and hook those reader's in! Or hurl yourself into your story and reviews and and win some! Whoot!

TONFA's First Annual Best in Category Competition

Heyo! Everyone! It is my pleasure to announce TONFA's first annual Best in Category competition, open August 1st!

The Rules are Here, as well as tips on how to get noticed!  Thanks to your cooperation to get the archives back in fine form I'll be opening our first in house competition, asking you to nominate your favourite fanfictions from the General, Het, Yaoi, Yuri, OC and AU categories!

Not only will winners get the recognition of their peers, they will get a special category only winners can submit to, a graphic award for your summary so the public will recognise you and, my favourite of all, an art prize from the magnificent artist above, thei11! For each category first prize will win a special soft shaded art piece of your choice whilst runner up will recieve a line art commission!

I also want to get out the news that three art prizes will also be given out to three reviewers who do their best to encourage and enlighten TONFA! I will be looking for honesty, attention to detail, following up chapters, backing up your advice.... All the things you crave in a review! The best thing about this is all nominations for the fanfictions awards, must be members before 01/08/08, where as Top Reviewer everyone is eligible up until September 1st when I announce the winner to be chosen by myself.

And trust me guys, Thei11's art is worth it! So my suggestion to you is get the word out everywhere you can! The more members we have, the more nominations your story may get, and the more reviews!

This is the first time I've ever organised a competition, and all the prizes are coming out of my wallet so please, I'd love feedback.

Merely an Update

G'day once again, shinobi and kunoichi of TONFA! My exams are over, I'm an official university graduate! This is good and bad news. Good news! Time to start planning TONFA's First inhouse competition. I've already decided it will be a Best in Category with art prizes for the winner and the runner up, but also three art prizes will be given out to TONFA's best reviewers so start practicing guys! It will be based on quality over quantity!

Bad news, with all this extra time on my hands I can spend more time policing the rules-mwahaha! Unfortunately we still can't figure out what's making the html so touchy so please if you're looking for a reference continue to check the Forum's Version if you have any questions.

The main transgressions I continue to see are not sticking to the eight character/pair/team choice maximum. It's getting the point we're I'm going to get so annoyed that if I see more than eight characters I'm going just going to edit it and chose the All option and for god sake please don't make me be a nanny! The rule is in place to fix up our buggered search engine and once I see that it's useful again and authors can use the option responsibly the rule will be lifted, I promise.

The other rule transgression is the new 700 word limit. It's there to encourage you to write a full and detailed chapter expanding it with better imagery and so each chapter can contribute meaningfully to the plot, not to fill it with mindless babble. If you can't do that, I'm wondering.... I don't know what I'm going to do about it just yet but do yourself a favour and try to meet it. If you have old fics abandoned fics that don't meet the rules, could you be a mate and delete it? Ta, thanks!

Otherwise, to those who complied so quickly I was amazed! Thankyou so much for making TONFA a better place! Keep writing and perhaps recommend us to other authors Naruto authors on the web? Teehee, I'm impressed with some of the gorgeous banners coming out (I'm looking at you Baal_of_Yarns, stunning!). If you're looking for one, I have a thread available in the Forums where you can request at least something basic, but there's also other threads where you can request character and fic reviews! If you have time and talent, start your own shop, as well as dropping round and chatting about writing and the latest manga issues!

Now to a new piece Reviewer of the Month, starting July 1st! The winner will get a commissioned art piece from which ever DeviantArt artist I'm admiring at the time! I'm looking for quality over quantity, tact, advice and detail over what you liked and didn't like about the piece and what could have improved it. So, taking a bit of time on a fic review will be rewarding, I promise.

Cheers guys, I hear its exam time in Britain and North America so good luck to all of you!

Fireworks All Round!

Yay! Woot! Whistle! After much delay everything's come together. The new rules have been confirmed (partway uploaded due to an archive glitch) and are being put into action (Please go Here for details, no excuses if you don't read). The new categories have been put in place, I hope you love em! And it's time to meet our new Moderators!

General: Bushtuckapenguin
Het-Romance: Swords_and_Bandages
Yaoi/Slash Romance: Sacryde
Yuri/Femslash Romance: Silent Witness and Shadowbell
Alternate Universe & Crossovers: Artic Blade
MadFic: Salmon and shadowdragon
OC- Fics: demonchick25 and Bushtuckapenguin
Fan Ninja Bingo Book: Yuidirnt and Bushtuckapenguin
Essays & Tutorials: Articblade Bushtuckapenguin

Another huge thankyou goes out to Yuidirnt, your new Tech Advisor! She's a legend and she's been looking after the forums and stopped me from accidently pressing the self-destruct button. Join us in the forums and get to know them. Talk to them about what you'd like to see in your forums, the categories, the pairings!

As mods, it's their duty to keep the place neat and tidy and answer your questions. At the moment with the huge upheavel they'll be making sure their category is neat, and that means you may come back to find your fic wasn't where you left it. Please don't be offended, you are most welcome to sort it where you think it goes.

They will also be sending out polite emails about rule descretions, but they won't act on them for a week while you get used to the ropes. They will be tackling corrections in categories, quality control, new length requirements and the most important one ART THEFT! If you didn't draw it you must give credit with an artist and a website. If not we will delete it. The only exclusions to this are screenshots or flashdolls. Carry on soldier of you disagree.

Otherwise, thankyou to everybody for your contribution, commitment and cooperation!

Ta mates, from Tucka

And They're Off and Racing!

G'day Shinobi and Kunoichi! Again I've been slack about updating but I have a lot of news for you!

Numero Uno is that the new rules and category systems. Sorry guys if you disapprove but you've had ample time to make your opinions known. These will come into effect once I've selected the new moderation team.

Numero Dos, applications are open for the moderation team! I'm going to admit two members per category (Het-Romance, Yaoi/Slash Romance, Yuri/Femslash Romance, General, Alternate Universe & Crossovers, MadFic, OC- Fic and Essays & Tutorials) and it will be their responsibility to enforce the rules, keep it tidy and encourage a reviewing culture within it. If you think you're up to the challenge please PM or email me (PM preferred) with

Archive Alias:
Category: You can apply for as many as you want but you'll only get one. Please don't say Any and work to your strengths.
Experience with the Category: Why you like the categories you've chosen, what you'd like to see in the evolution of the category, ect
From there I'll have a look at your fics to examine it for your degree of literacy and how you interact with other members (ie are you an active, polite and critical reviewer, do you haunt the forums?) although for me the latter is more important than the former.

This will run until... well until I have a gap in my real-life schedule which will probably be a fortnight. I'm really looking forward to getting the Mod-team up and running again.

Then it will be my pleasure after, say a month once the new rules and category changes have smoothed out I will open the first TONFA contest with art based prizes! Perhaps a banner or a character lineart or a movie-like poster will be yours to display with your fic! *winks*

Cheers mates! Keep up the writing and reviewing, and I'm looking forward to seeing the new Mod team

Your Ridiculously Absent Admin

G'day Ladies and Gents, my apologies for my lack of communication these past couple of weeks. Alas I chose an idiotic time to take up a position of responsibility. It's been in the works for months, but I'm taking a holiday from my country town in Australia to the wider world of Montreal, Vancouver and Anchorage. So mates, if you see a little girl with cherry red hair in a ponytail holding a map and wandering in circles, help her out and you could win brownie points for the archives!

This means several things for you. Firstly, Priest but back up in charge of quality control until March 20th when I return. Keep up the good work, keep to the rules and keep reviewing. I am however worried about all the journals that are popping up, that's what the forums are for guys. If you want I can set up a part of the forum where that can be the main topic, member journals.

Now, I'm a little worried that so few people have commented on the category changes and the dead line is March 20th. If the majority agree the changes to the catagories will go forward, and sorry guys, if you you don't vote you can't really complain. So get in, get a look and say YAY or NAY! --> Get a wiggle on!

Cheers mates, I'll see you when I get back and we'll get the Archives rolling again.

Let's Make a Start

G'day ladies and gentlemen, shinobi and kunoichi. Welcome to TONFA in its next incarnation.

I'd like to infinitely extend my gratitude to Priest for setting up one of the best and freest places to express one's creativity in its many Naruto forms. I'm not kidding! I've been around a lotta fandoms and there are few that allow X-rated, writing essays, art in stories, character bios and many more features so if you haven't thanked her yet, do so. I personally want to thank her for the opportunity to be the next to carry the torch for the archives.

So here be the introductions. I'm Bushtuckapenguin, and to my left is Tammy-Chan. Although I haven't posted much I am a huge fan of all of you as when I was in the field of the Simpson Desert every time I hit a small town I logged on and saved as many of your stories as possible to keep me sane. To find myself in a position of responcibility is a delight and I hope to establish any number of features to keep you happy and coming back for more.

The first of these is reestablishing The Forums. At the moment they are cheap but if I see them become popular I'll see what other features I can add. I certainly hope you find them useful because I find the best way to improve your writing is to bounce of others -BOUNCE AWAY!

That brings me to our second feature, most of which explained in greater details on the forums so I can hear your opinions, objections and suggestions. The first will be refining of the rules, mostly to go along with our second change- The Navigation. I suspect that since the archives were first established trends of changed and the goal is to separate some of the emerging categories that have since been defined.

Which brings me to our third topic, new moderators to make the transition smooth for any coming changes. I'll be looking to promote at least one per category. The people I'll be looking for will have a proven literary grasp in their stories, active in the forum and reviews and a clear understanding that everyone has to start somewhere, so why not give them a boost along the way.

As I said, more info in the forums. I look forward to working and hearing from you,

Cheers and Inspiration,
Tucka

See Ya Around~
Well, this is it. Everything has been arranged, and my hands are now off the job. I'd be lying if I didn't say that this felt freeing... but I'd also be lying if I didn't say that I would miss you all. I will definitely miss everyone here; you've all been so kind and so wonderful over the last four years, and all your offers of help with the site were wonderful.

On the note of "help", there is officially a new administration in place now. Tammi-chan and Tucka are the ones I've spoken at length about the site with, and they've both agreed to do their parts to help keep TONFA alive.

I'm so very grateful to both of them, so grateful to know that TONFA will live on, even after I've turned my attentions to new projects and new ideas.

Again, everyone, I love you. I'll be around from time to time, so don't be surprised if you get a review or a comment from "Priest". ;)

As they say...
This is, perhaps, the hardest and most painful decision that I have ever made.

First off, I would like to apologize for missing TONFA's fourth birthday (and perhaps I should have done that particular apology on the news post I made on the 14th, as TONFA's birthday was October 10th). You may have noticed that there has been a distinct lack of community-wide activities recently, and that is mostly my fault.

Now, let me explain a bit. My enjoyment of the Naruto series has been steadily decreasing for a number of years. It has gotten to the point that I have, on more than on occasion, described TONFA as a "badge". Similar to how a young child will shout "Mommy, Mommy! Look what I did!", I have paraded TONFA out as a badge of pride... and little else.

Honestly, I love this site. I love everyone on it. I just don't have the time, and more importantly, the enthusiasm needed to run it anymore. This is why the last few months have been so lacking, as well as why the NFA hasn't been updated since September 3rd.

On the note of the NFA, I intend to keep nominations open until December due to my own stupid self ignoring it. It's my fault that it looks so lacking in nominations, when I have an inbox full of them.

But back to what I was saying. It's this lack of enthusiasm that has brought me to a certain point these past two months. When I did manage to get some free time between my studies and work, I would find all sorts of reasons and excuses not to work on TONFA. It's at the point of not even wanting to open the administrative email because I know that there's so much that needs to be done.

To top it all off, aside from Dancer, I'm not even sure which of the moderators are even still with the site, let alone whether they want to continue to moderate. People come and go, it's natural. For evidence of this, I simply have to look at the profiles of the authors that I originally invited to TONFA to realize that most of them are long gone. In some cases, gone from the fandom all together. TONFA is, after all, four years old.

I want her to reach five.

But, and this is the important part, I won't be here.

This all brings me back to the decision that I first mentioned. I once thought that TONFA could hold my attention, even if Naruto no longer could. And while this was true for a time, it is no longer so.

I am stepping down as administrator and owner.

To this end, I am looking for someone who is willing to maintain TONFA's domain and server space. This includes paying the fees-- or setting up a donation system so the users can pay fees, or whatever the new Head Administrator feels like doing. If you are interested in being said new Head Administrator/Owner of TONFA, please contact me at my gmail account, krakatoayo. It's the most frequently checked. I'll explain to you the specifics of maintaining TONFA, and we'll see if you still want the "job".

Please know that I love you all very dearly, but there is only so long that one can sit on a growing fandom that one is no longer a part of.

Thank you all for four wonderful years.

And once again I disappeared without a word. Please forgive me!
So, uh, you know how I said I'd get around to things if my schoolwork wasn't horribly bad? Well, my schoolwork was horribly bad. To the point where there's so much to do that I am dropping one of my classes just so I can get some breathing room between work and school.

But you don't want to hear my emo-woes (if you do, I'll be happy to expound of a month and a half's worth of research into royal incest). Of course not! You want to know what's going on with the site!

Uh.

Well.

In the last month, absolutely nothing. Except for on that day when the site was down for maintenance. And that was more for the adult site than for TONFA itself. I feel bad about going stone-cold silent on you guys for so long, so I was thinking that I could post my day-to-day activities to the livejournal community. This would also serve to help motivate me, and keep me from spending so much time poking at html and php code without doing anything on the live-side of things.

Also, and I think this is like the most important announcement of the day: we have a new moderator. Who doesn't know she's a moderator yet, so this will be informing her, too.

Welcome to the wonderful world of administration, user number six-oh-six!

...

...

Okay, I'll stop teasing. DancerOfShadows is officially a moderator of TONFA. I bestow this rank on you given that you already act like one, and you've been very helpful over the last few months.

Sorry for the disappearing act!
Sorry for disappearing on everyone the way that I did. It was unintentional, I assure you. I still haven't finished working on the stuff I said I would two weeks ago, however I have managed to get caught up on the nominations for the NFA.

That said, I am going to keep working on getting everything running the way I keep imagining that it will, and hopefully the 'adult tonfa' will be online sometime next week.

This, of course, depends on how much homework is lumped on me in this bright and shiny new semester, as well as how absolutely insane the sale at work this week is going to get. I might be little more than a lump o'Priest by friday ;)

So Troublesome...!
Cross your fingers kittens and cubs. Let's hope things work out properly this time.

This makes the sixth time I've uninstalled, then installed, then upgraded the script TONFA runs on today. After eight bloody hours of trying to figure out what I was doing wrong (and finally figuring it out, yay!), I'm giving up the ghost for now.

Maintenance will continue on Tuesday August 21st. Mostly just to check if any bugs have popped up during this latest attempt to upgrade the site, as well as officially kick off the start of the new "Adult TONFA" site. I really do need to come up with a proper name for it. Been considering TONFA-R and Icha Icha Naruto, though I am open to suggestions ;)

That said, I hope ya'll haven't forgotten that tomorrow TONFA is going down for maintenance. I'm not sure how long it will be down for, but expect for it to be most of the day. I'm doing some heavy duty work ;)

2007 Naruto Fanfiction Awards
Well, it's that time of year again. The Fourth Annual Naruto Fanfiction Awards are here! Just head on over to http://nfa.narutofic.org/ and put in your nominations for your favorite fics!

Don't forget that any story nominated needs to have been written or updated between November 7th, 2006 and the present date. Nominations will be accepted until November 1st and voting will begin on November 2nd.

You've got lots of time to get your nominations in, but they need to be seconded/nominated by another person, so it's better to get the nomination in early than to get it in late.

Voting will close on January 1st, 2008.

Random Costume Day 2007 & Other Important News
[ Starting today, all news posts will be cross-posted to the forums, to the livejournal community, and to a story file titled "A Little Birdie Told Me", for maximum exposure. ]

Okay, as I just got notification from one of the pinned threads I'm watching on livejournal, I just thought I'd throw this out there: are there any policies at TONFA that are unclear/confusing? I'm going to be trying my best to 'interface', so to speak, with the userbase, and I'd like to start with clarifying anything that might be problematic.

Moving on... Random Costume Day.

Last year I was asked to give people a bit more warning about this, which I totally only remembered today. Uh... well, anyways. For those of you who weren't around last year August 12th is Random Costume Day. A long story short, three or four years ago a few friends of mine and I were discussing Talk Like a Pirate Day and other such fun holidays-- and decided that we wanted to start up our own. We choose August 12th, as that was the birthdate of one of the girls in the conversation.

Ever since, I've been 'pimping' it out to whomever would listen. This year we've a bit lucky-- I know of two conventions that fall on the date of Random Costume Day. Luckier still, RCD is a Sunday, so we don't have to worry about pesky things like work. Those of you who have to go to church may have some interesting conversations with the father/padre/paster/reverend/etc ;D

Of course, as Naruto fans, even if you have to wear formal-wear to church or a similar event we can pull out our ninja costumes-- that is to say, we can draw ANBU tattoos on our arms, and wear hitae-ate in concealed places and be ninja. It doesn't have to be an ornate costume, after all.

On the note of the conventions that fall on the date of August 12th-- I will be at one of them. Animethon in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) is the one I will be attending. If any of you will be there and want to say 'hi', just look for .hack//GU's Pai. I'm pretty sure I'll be one of a kind (I was at Otakon, after all~)

When I get back from Animethon is when the fun will begin. Okay, technically I work every day next week for several long shifts, so it'll be the week after that.

TONFA will be down for maintenance August 19th. If I don't get everything accomplished on that date, then I will continue maintenance on August 21st (I have to work the 20th).

I'm hoping to straighten out the kinks in the code that we've been sitting on for so long, but it's going to take a lot of work, and I'll admit that I was putting TONFA to the side in favor of finishing my costumes and commissions for Otafest, Otakon, Animethon, and Anime Evolution (commissions only for that one-- I can't attend for a variety of reasons).

I will also be setting up a P.O. Box for those who would like to donate to the general running of the TONFA servers, sometime within the next month. All money sent to that box will be used specifically for this website. If there's any spill-over (read: more money than what's needed to pay the bills) we'll start up raffles and draws. How's that sound to everyone?

Reviews & Naruto: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow
Review System is back to the old style. Yes, you can see everyone else's review response button if you're logged in. Only the author can use it. As previously explained in obscenely large letters, I'm not a programmer. I don't know how to write code, only how to work with code that's already been written (the remnants of two semesters of C programming in 2004), so I'm going to have to look at the code of 3.3 in order to introduce new things.

In other news. My beloved Canadian Naruto Fans! Have you seen this?

http://www.empiretheatres.com/promotions/naruto.asp

According to the email sent to me by ASAPA (thanks guys~) the events in Calgary and Edmonton are also having a Naruto Cosplay Contest. With prizes! I don't know about the other places, but you might be able to score some free eats if you show up in costume.

I wish I was going, but I have work on Saturday, and this website doesn't pay for itself ;)

Review Responses
So, because I got irritated in trying to figure out why the bloody response button wouldn't appear...

I've spent the last two and a half hours making up my own new form ^_

So some of you (if you were trying to respond in the last two hours) may have noticed that the button was back... but wouldn't work. Some of you may have even responded, only to find funny symbols or words instead of "Author's Response".

No review will state "Author's Response" anymore. It'll give the username of the responder... because the bloody stupid form hates me and wouldn't let me limit it to the author and the author alone. What does that mean? That means anyone who's logged in can use the respond button. I'm going to try and see if I can fix that, but I don't want to tie up the site any longer, so I'm going to play with it on my build-site.

Edit: Okay! So I've found a way to lock responses to the author, though everyone will still see the "Respond" button if they're logged in. The question now is:

Do you want to be able to respond to other peoples' reviews on their review (and considering that I've seen some people carry on conversations through posting reviews...), or do you want to have it locked to the author alone? Like Suishouryuu said, it'll come across like a forum thread.

I'm willing to let this go on a trial run and see what everyone thinks in a week or so. That is, if you all want it. Otherwise I can set it to author-lock right now. Up to you guys-- you're the ones who'll be using it.
